We saw a need in providing the community with local, organic, fruits, vegetables, and superfoods in a positive and sustainable environment. Something that after you consume it, you know is working for your health. Natural energy, natural power!
After falling ill due to my diet many years ago, Ryan helped guide me on a self-healing journey through Nature's Medicine.
He is originally from upstate New York, and lived in Maui for years before we met. He had experienced the healing powers of fasting, cleanses, raw dieting, superfoods, sustainability, organic living, and knows his way around a health food store.
I'm from South Carolina and grew up in the country. This meant we had plenty of farm land for most delicious fruits and vegetables, had gardens, went strawberry picking, stopped roadside for the sweetest peaches, went hunting, and experienced most of our lives outside in nature. However, we also believe that adding half a pound of margarine, salt, or sugar is a necessity in any dish.
I made a vow to myself that I didn't want to live to eat anymore, but rather wanted to eat to live. This is the point where I fell in love with fueling my body with the highest quality ingredients, thank you Ryan.
My Yoga practice motivated me to travel to Northern India where I studied Ayurvedic, medicine while completing my 200 hour yoga teacher training course at Rishikul Yogashala.
Inspired to immerse myself deeper in India's holistic teachings, I cancelled travel plans and found myself travelling down the entire Country. I had unlocked a whole new world filled with eastern medicine and philosophy.
After making my way to the southern coast of India I completed another 300 hours at Kranti Yoga, and continued to understand further about the body, Ayurveda, and the eight limbs of yoga.
The last six years I have been absorbing as much knowledge as possible through books, podcast, websites, recipes, travels, holistic doctors etc...
The more we learn about health, happiness, sustainability, and wellbeing of all living things, the more inspired we are to discover ways in which we can implement those practices in our lives.
This love for a more mindful lifestyle is what inspired the idea of juice and
smoothie bar on wheels! (owning a juice bar has been a dream of
ours for years)
Clean, Simple, Fresh, Organic, Local, Bright, Alive, Real, Raw, and Sustainable are all words used to describe the foundation of Gypsy Juice. Built by my partner, painted by my older brother, web designed by my younger brother, and staffed with owners of a sustainable skincare line here in Maui.
We are BEYOND blessed to be surrounded by such a talented family and community that believes in our vision. We have witnessed what a more mindful lifestyle has provided for us and wanted to share that joy with the world!
